Academies

NBHS has 4 NAF Academies with Distinguished Status: The Academy of Business and Finance, The Academy of Health & Sciences, The Academy of Public Service, The Academy of Manufacturing, Engineering, & Technology

 

Visual Arts

We currently offer advanced courses in 2D, 3D and digital areas and AP studio art class. AP studio is offered for full year, in three different studio strands: Drawing, 2D Design and 3D Design.

New Britain has Varsity, Junior Varsity and Freshman sports teams that compete in the Central Connecticut Conference (CCC) Learn more about Athletics

 

World Languages

World Languages Department The primary goals of the World Language Department are to develop the following: 1. effective communication skills. 2. an understanding and appreciation of cultural differences and similarities. 3. to increase students’ sense of global awareness. 4. effective reading and writing skills. 5. a greater understanding of the English language.
